Blockchain game lovers have another great project to enjoy now that Astral Pioneers is officially on the market. This is yet another blockchain-based project that offers fun and ownership at the same time.
Astral Pioneers (AP) is a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) and Metaverse project on the Ethereum blockchain where players own their land, mine that land for resources, and use those resources to create 30 Can be built on different planets. What is Astral Pioneer?
Astral Pioneer is a blockchain game with 30 unique planets across a virtual galaxy, each with its own resources. In Astral Pioneers, players assume the role of a human with the power to perform astral projections onto other planets in the galaxy, assuming alien form. Players can create a funky alien avatar and participate in the universe by purchasing land and mining various resources to build structures that act as his NFT. NFTs, along with mined resources, can be traded with other players using in-game currency.
In addition to the resource-driven economy, players can also participate in player-driven events such as social gatherings and elections. The latter is done through the player’s voting rights, allowing the player to make laws in their land.
Astral Pioneers is a project founded by Greg Betz, a blockchain architect based in Columbus, Ohio. Greg has been in the blockchain business for over 5 years and is familiar with the concept of games on the blockchain.
Inspired by other blockchain metaverse projects such as Sandbox, Decentraland, and Otherside, Betz envisioned Astral Pioneers as a digital play-to-one (P2E) world where players can earn money while having fun.
Betz collaborates with artist Malcolm Smith. blue pixie comicsWhen Generativenfts.io, the NFT Creation Group for engineering and technical support. Betz wanted to create a game with a real government while allowing players and creators to freely create and trade his NFTs on her one platform.
“We are the first metaverse with a real government and the first in the game world to have minable resources.” Betts says. The developer plans to add his RPG-style quests where players can collect resources, as well as “magic items” that act as NFTs.
Benefits for gamers
Betts decided to create the project on the Ethereum blockchain, a decision that had a major impact on the design of the Metaverse. Astral Pioneers may be the first blockchain game to boast several other firsts in the blockchain gaming space thanks to next-gen features built into Ethereum (no pun intended). Blockchain allows players to interact with other players in multiple ways, enabling both internal and external transactions.
Ethereum allows teams to build a metaverse around a tokenized economy using the ERC-721A token standard. This version of the native Ethereum smart contract token is optimized for gas usage (the blockchain’s native cost-controlled resource). This standard allows multiple players to mine land resources and mint NFTs with minimal gas usage.
Tokenization, unique to Ethereum, and later Astral Pioneer, adds several layers of governance, identity management, and Defi functionality to the game. If you’re familiar with how blockchain works, all of these features sound like staking and smart contracts made for games.
To get started, players need to purchase an avatar, an Alien NFT display image, and a background 1/1 environment scene. The starting price is 0.0888 ETH. Players can choose from “multiple alien races with unique characteristics”. Smith’s signature art style is a notable feature of these avatars.
The game uses its own stablecoin for in-game transactions called APIC, which can be used to purchase land and resources. A new player gets 50,000 APIC from the start, which he can use to buy land in any of his 90,000 states on 30 different planets.
Astral Pioneers is free to play for anonymous users. These players will appear as spirits in the game. Spirits will be able to watch public events such as live concerts. Registered players logging into the Metaverse are required to create 100 APIC avatars. These players can play the base game but have no voting rights.
For the ultimate experience, players can become citizens of any state by paying an additional 200 APIC per user. To obtain citizenship, the player must complete her detailed KYC form. You will then get Soulbound Tokens, which are her non-transferable NFTs encrypted into the player’s account.
Advancing the Astral Pioneers
The team plans to add ways for players to lend and invest their APIC and other resource tokens for profit. This will be linked not only to charity DAOs, but also to player-run in-game DAOs.
