- I bought my first NFT at OpenSea, the largest online marketplace for digital assets.
- But from buying crypto to understanding how to connect all the apps, the process was a headache.
- Besides, I don’t know what to do with the new NFT.
I have $ 2,000 Digital Photo Frame In the market that allows you to view your NFT art in your home.
The price is ridiculous, but after I decided to buy the first NFT, its purpose became easier to understand — just for fun.
After buying cryptocurrency and transferring it to a digital crypto wallet and after a failure, I finally proud of a 14-second animated cartoon of a pig set on a flashing background of colors to match an electronic dance music song. I became a new owner.
And now I have no idea what to do with it.
This is a strange feeling, as NFTs are all the rage right now in the world of distributed technology. There may be potential actual use of themBut now they are mainly used as speculative assets, including in the world of art.
So all I can expect is that it’s worth it, but it still doesn’t deserve the absolute headaches of this frictional process.
You need to jump some hoops before you start exploring the NFT
The Coinbase app is on the left and the Coinbase Wallet app is on the right.

You cannot go to OpenSea to buy NFTs. First, you need to open the crypto wallet and buy the crypto.
I used Coinbase Wallet. Many OpenSea users also use MetaMask, one of the dozens of wallets supported by the platform. The process was surprisingly easy. With the CoinbaseWallet app, I was able to connect to my bank account via the ChaseBank app.
Once verified and connected to your bank account, it’s time to buy cryptocurrencies, but with the Coinbase app instead of the Coinbase Wallet app (confusingly) Ether is the most popular virtual used for trading on Ethereum. It’s a coin Blockchain-based OpenSea, so I chose it.
However, I couldn’t immediately use my ether outside of the Coinbase app. I had to wait 7 days.
So I tried MetaMask to see if it would be faster.
I’ve entered all the information, but only to let the browser know that Texas (where I live) is not supported by Wyre, the payment platform used by MetaMask.
7 days later …

It’s time to use my ether in OpenSea! You should do it sooner, right? Not exactly.
I knew I needed to connect OpenSea to the Coinbase Wallet, but the OpenSea app didn’t offer it as an option. The only options were fields for entering MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Rainbow, and Ethereum addresses.
So ….. where is my Ethereum address?
To Google. A useful guide to Coinbase It actually pops up in the search results and goes to the Coinbase Wallet app[受信]Click to pop up the address to copy and enter into OpenSea.
At that time, I realized that I couldn’t buy NFTs with the OpenSea mobile app. You can only sift NFTs like an art gallery (* headaches get worse. *)
The Verge There were some useful explanations for why OpenSea didn’t want to urge Apple and Google to share a 30% share of in-app transactions through the app store.
I opened OpenSea on my laptop and tried to connect to the Coinbase Wallet …
Google chrome
Notifies you that your Coinbase Wallet app is incompatible. This part may be my own personal error, but it took me about an hour to update my computer and reinstall Chrome so that I could download the extension.
At this point I was exhausted. I only bought about $ 50 worth of ether, so I searched for NFTs in that price range. Enter my enthusiastic pig friend.
But it wasn’t as simple as shooting 0.0179 ether. In other words, there was a so-called network fee worth $ 50, and it was expensive to buy. So I had to go back to Coinbase, buy more ether, transfer it to Coinbase Wallet, and then buy an NFT.
total? $ 103.25.
So what do you do?
I was able to purchase a $ 2,000 digital photo frame.or I could have a video print made with it.
But of course I don’t.What i can do Rave pigThe NFT collection, which contains my new artwork, is exploding in popularity, just like the Bored Ape Yacht Club. Collection sales have exceeded $ 1 billion.
In the meantime, count my blessings that you don’t have to start over with this process.
