OPENSEA Edge utilizes parallel NVIDIA processors to process sonar and video recognition feeds, providing autonomy, communication and task management for robots. The platform puts enormous processing power at the edge of the robot, where it can directly process sensor data and make decisions about the vehicle. OPENSEA’s Safe C2 software package for low-bandwidth and high-latency communication links provides a bottom-to-horizon communication solution for operators monitoring robots. OPENSEA’s open architecture framework and available processing space allow developers to install their own autonomy and perception processing software, including his AI/ML libraries.
OPENSEA Edge was originally developed and tested for military applications, deployed on unmoored ROVs and seafloor crawling robots in mine countermeasures and explosive ordnance disposal applications. OPENSEA Edge is being used as a foundation for new vehicle builds as well as retrofitting conventional commercial ROVs. With proven performance in military applications, Greensea now offers his OPENSEA Edge as a commercial product. Greensea are experts in ROV control and autonomy, and through collaboration with other subsea technology leaders, OPENSEA Edge was able to provide a complete solution. ATR systems use fast machine learning techniques to detect and classify targets from forward looking sonar data.
