US-licensed Formula One constructor Haas F1 Team has announced a collaboration with Opensea, a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace. As part of the deal, a collection of his NFTs will be made for Haas and the Opensea logo will appear on the car.
Opensea helps American Formula 1 team launch NFT collection
Opensea, the leading peer-to-peer marketplace for non-fungible tokens, will create an NFT collection for Haas F1. The collaboration was announced Thursday by Haas, the only American-owned team to compete in the FIA Formula One World Championship. In a press release on its website, Haas F1 said:
As the “Official NFT Marketplace Partner” of the Haas F1 Team, Opensea will create a collection of branded NFTs, as well as the team and external collaborators.
The initiative is aimed at increasing fan engagement, the racing team noted. Vice President of Products at Opensea Shiva Rajaraman said:
Executives emphasized that the crypto company is looking forward to launching an innovative collection with Haas F1, offering new opportunities for its community of dedicated fans to get closer to the action.
Also under the deal, the Opensea logo will appear on the VF-22 car designed and built by the Haas F1 team to compete in the 2022 Formula One World Championship.
“We have been waiting to find the right partner in the NFT space and at Opensea we have found just that,” said Team Principal of Haas F1 Guenther Steiner.
“By being guided by Opensea on our collections and fan engagement opportunities, not only are they connecting with all the major players, they are all industry leaders bringing innovation to the forefront. Commenting on Haas F1’s first steps into the NFT space, Steiner added:
