ESL Gaming has partnered with Immutable X to offer NFT issuance and trading on their esports platform.

ESL gamesOne of the world’s largest esports companies is launching an NFT platform. This move is the result of a partnership with Immutable Xa StarkWare-powered NFT project running on Layer 2 Ethereum.
The platform will offer collectible NFTs and launch alongside the ESL Pro Tour CS:GO gaming competition. This event is the company’s flagship competition.
The 2022 edition will offer fans a unique digital collection curated from the event.
Commenting on the partnership with Immutable X, Bernhard Mogk, Head of Global Business Development at ESL Gaming, said:
“We couldn’t be happier to launch the premier community-driven, fan-centric collectible platform on Immutable X to buy, collect and own some of the most memorable moments in ESL Pro Tour history. I am so excited.”
NFTs are non-fungible tokens, unique crypto assets that cannot be exchanged for each other. NFTs are a way to provide verifiable ownership of assets such as digital art, music, and in-game items. The popularity of this technology has exploded in the last year, sports and the game industry. Most NFTs are made on Ethereum, the most widely used blockchain today. However, Ethereum’s popularity means that it suffers from problems such as high transaction costs. Many NFT projects have turned to scaling solutions such as Polygon and Immutable X’s Layer 2 solution to alleviate the problem.
Immutable X Leverage Starkware’s ZK-Rollup technology that offers fast trading and boasts zero gas fees. We are also partnering with Trace and Cool Effect to offset our carbon footprint so that NFTs created on our platform are carbon neutral. It was previously integrated with NFT marketplace OpenSea, powering TikTok’s recent NFT ventures, as well as Guild of Guardians, Illuvium, its own games, and more. Freed from the Chains of the GodsImmutable raised a $60 million Series B round last month, co-led by BITKRAFT Ventures and King River Capital.

ESL Gaming’s ESL Pro Tour CS:GO is one of the most popular esports events in the world. According to ESL Gaming’s press release, last year’s edition had him 675 million social media impressions and his 905 million video views.
