BAYC server experiences another hack
The scam impersonated Vagner, who directed users to fake websites, assuming a free gift limited to BAYC, MAYC, and Other Side owners. Unfortunately, the link was malicious and unknown to the owner. The link caused people unhappy enough to use it to lose their property. The total value of stolen tokens was 145 ETH (32 NFT) stolen. These included one BAYC, two MAYCs, five other acts, and one BAKC.

In the vast majority of cases, scammers win by the simple lack of awareness that the owner shows.Almost every day I hear someone losing thousands of dollars and causing them “Fat fingers” I thought the transaction or they had the correct link and forked their assets.
However, if a hack occurs due to a lack of security set by an individual overseeing one of the world’s largest NFT collections, what is “safe” when security leaves the room at the moment the manager’s account is compromised. You may question exactly if it is. Discord continues to be the go-to tool for building an NFT “community,” and thus invites a swarm of security risks. It’s a mistake, but it’s not the first time the BAYC community has suffered fraud within Discord.
BAYC continues to be one of the most profitable collections, hosting the largest land sale to date. However, as collections continue to grow in different ways, security needs to be significantly upgraded. It may be time for the BAYC community to permanently move from Discord to its own platform.
