Augmented Reality DApp switches network from Ethereum to Polygon
    • OVR has begun the first phase of its transition to Polygon.
    • The migration decision was made after OVR had problems with Ethereum’s scalability.
    • The second phase of the transition will begin in February.

OVR has begun the first phase of the transition from the Ethereum network to polygons. The company has transferred Markle Proof and Minting functionality from the former network to the latter. As a result, users can now create OVRLs and NFTs in Polygon in just a few cents.

Similarly, OVR has added polygon network payments in addition to Ethereum and BSC payment options in the primary market. Therefore, this reduces transaction costs.

The secondary market will not change until the transition is complete.

OVR has decided to switch to Polygon based on transaction costs, decentralization trade-offs and project vision, current adoption, proximity to the Ethereum ecosystem, and finally EVM compatibility, according to the blog. ..

Polygon provides the scalability that OVR seeks to create and transfer NFTs at a sufficiently affordable price for an average transaction size. Most importantly, Polygon’s proximity to Ethereum greatly reduces the risk of OVR falling into a “ghost chain”.

The second phase of the transition will take place in February. OVR begins creating OVR Lands stored as Markle Proof on the Ethereum network in the owner’s wallet on the polygon. Currently, there are over 24k different wallets that own over 700k OVR Land. This will fully decentralize OVR Land ownership and allow widespread public oversight of the minted land and the community of owners. In addition, all purchased OVRLs will be minted directly as NFTs on the polygons, so the light mint feature will disappear.

This news follows OVR’s announcement that OVR tokens can be exchanged with V3’s Polygon implementation. Users could use the official polygon bridge to move ERC-20 OVR tokens from the Ethereum network to Porion and vice versa. The bridge automatically recognizes the OVR token in the user’s Ethereum wallet and performs bridging. The user simply connected the wallet to the DApp.

Prior to that, OVR announced new app updates with additional features. OVRLive introduces a whole new UI with custom animated avatars, group chat, preview and support for 3D assets. In addition, users were given the option to view and add new friends directly from the live event.

OVR has stated to Coin Quora that it is proud to significantly improve the user experience. This follows the fact that OVR has exceeded 700,000 OVRL and has integrated many NFT projects into the Metaverse.
